What a better day than Mother's Day to begin the Grogg Blog. First, I would like to thank Jay and Jessica for starting the blog idea. What a great way to communicate with everyone, all the fun times we wish you all could be here to share with us. (plus with them leading the way if we didn't i think Grandma Grogg would kick our butts)
We are in what we think is week 18. We thought we were positive until the doc put swooning doubts in our heads. She said that it looked to her like we were more like 20 weeks three weeks ago. And caught us both completely off guard when she thought she was hearing two heart beats and that maybe there were twins. Our jaws both dropped and i think almost simultaneously we both said, Huh?? Being that we already had an ultra sound at 8 weeks
she told us we would have to wait until our next ultra sound to find out. Which happens to be tomorrow, so place your bet folks. One or two?? Boy or girl??? I am almost positive its a girl especially with that initial heartbeat at 158. Sara and my mom both agree that its a Boy. We will determine a champion tomorrow. That Hawaiian super shake from the local Lonsdale treats will taste fantastic. Because of course i am right.

Not Sara, Its fruit. Oranges, bananas and strawberries lead the way. There were two or three weeks that i was fortunate enough that it was homemade french bread pizza. (MMMM pizza)
I am also finding out all sorts of fun facts. Did you know the umbilical cord doesn't fall of until after the baby is a couple weeks old. They actually make Diapers with a hole in them. Wow the wonders of Child Birth. Also, i realized I've never even seen a dirty diaper, Let alone changed one. I hear its no big deal, but I'm not looking forward to it.
We are both very excited for this blessing. It will be tough to sleep tonight knowing tomorrow is the big day. Until then.......
Single... Girl!

ReplyDeleteI never changed a diaper before either, but fortunately it is super easy. And, if you breastfeed, the poops are really mild and don't smell bad at all. Actually, I kind of like the smell. Once you begin solids though, it all changes :) I can't wait to read more!!
